Are Dietary Restrictions Making You Sick?

As a child, I quite liked fruitcake.

I’m strange that way.

Stranger still considering I generally dislike cake.

A conundrum.

Except that not all cakes are created equal.

The fruitcake with which I grew up contained dried rutabaga.

An alleged-“fruit” for which young Andy had no other dietary source.

It wasn’t really the fruitcake my body yearned for.

It was the rutabaga.

It’s Not About Quantity

OK, this one’s obvious.

Anyone who grew up in a family where cleaning one’s plate was “encouraged” can agree that more isn’t better.

But it’s not about calories.

It’s about tolerability.

Anything becomes toxic in sufficient quantity.

Think about that the next time you’re contemplating the next single-food fad diet.

Oh, such diets work.

Because they are so unhealthy.

The body creates a natural aversion to any food eaten to such exclusion.

Leading the dieter to prefer starvation to the prospect of yet another Twinkie.

It’s Not About Quality

This one’s less obvious.

Naturopathic supplements, homeopathic remedies, and conventional pharmaceuticals alike trumpet their quality ingredients.

Which is stupid.

“Quality” is a nebulous concept, particularly in health care.

For some, “quality” implies purity, and intensive refinement.

For others, it implies unrefined, whole-food sources.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Removing an “impurity” can prevent allergies.

Or it can remove a critical constituent.

Like rutabaga.

Which is why ...

It’s All About Specificity

This one’s not obvious at all.

It’s definitely not sexy.

And it runs in the face of our society’s love for one-size-fits-all solutions.

Solutions promoted by the pharmaceutical, naturopathic supplement, IV therapy, and combination homeopathic remedy industries alike.

Solutions that make sense - from a business perspective, that is.

Panaceas and cure-alls are sexier and more lucrative than individualized medicine.

Too bad treatment specificity and individualization is what works.

Which was not obvious to me at first.

After all, evidence-based medicine promotes one-size-fits-all solutions.

Unfortunately, such solutions are hit-and-miss.

More miss than hit, in fact.

But individualized medicine, almost by definition, is all hit.

Which is why everything I do – constitutional homeopathy, Bowen Therapy, naturopathic supplements, biofeedback, the Neuroemotional Technique (NET), the Neuromodulation Technique (NMT), the Neural Organization Technique (NOT), and more – has individualized medicine at its core.

With individualized medicine, you can discover whether you need more rutabaga.

Or whether you’re better off avoiding fruitcake altogether.

Naturopathic Medicine & Homeopathy Testimonials

I can sleep so much better with the homeopathic remedy!

Andy's neuroemotional therapy helped my headaches and blood pressure to decrease in intensity.

And the neck pain is gradually getting better with his Bowen technique.

Jenny W, Mission (Hatzic), BC

Her spasms, aggression, and itching rash have gotten much lesser since the homeopathic treatment.

S.T. (dog owner), West Vancouver (Dundarave), BC

I have seen a huge shift in myself - mentally, physically and emotionally.

It's awesome!

Things are going really great and most importantly I am connecting on all these different levels.

Yesterday, I was jumping on my bed with my kids and I wasn't having those crazy heart palpitations, I wasn't even out of breath, I am not cold...I could go on and on...thank you.

Tamar Conner, Kentville, Nova Scotia

The tics and spastic outbursts were able to be gradually helped by the homeopathic medicine and bowen technique.

Until now, I barely have them at all.

The neuroemotional work also helped restore my mobility.

Margret D, Burnaby (Brentwood, North Burnaby), BC

The homeopathic remedy and neuroemotional technique cured my blisters, warts, and pustules, and I haven't had any flare-ups or outbreaks for over a year.

Andy's Bowen therapy helped my knee and hip pain a lot as well.

J.W., Delta (Ladner), BC

My daughter was horribly itchy before your homeopathic and neural-emotional treatments.

Anyway, now she's doing great.

The rashs on her thighs, genitals, and around her mouth are gone.

It doesn't seem to hurt her to pee now.

She also doesn't as irritable, even though she recently started teething.

O.W., Pitt Meadows, BC

My meniere’s disease, including the vertigo and nausea, went away after I was treated by Dr. Andy’s remedy, and the recurrences have become increasingly less frequent and intense. I've been doing so well that I haven't needed treatment for months!

F.L., Richmond, BC

Multiple car accidents caused me to have less mobility and huge pain and stiffness in my neck, face and jaw.

I'd get super dizzy every couple of days, and have to go throw up.

My lymph nodes were always swollen too, and I got throat infections much more often.

I felt so tightly wound at work and in my marriage too.

The homeopathy, bowen therapy and neuroemotional releases all made my neck relax, and the pain started to go away too.

I've been pain-free for months, and have finally been able to drive without fear again.

Amanda R, Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows, BC

I didn't think alternative medicine, naturopathy or homeopathy could make my eyes better, but they are!

Not perfect yet, but getting better with every treatment.

My back pain is also much less with the Bowen Therapy.

And the homeopathy, neuroemotional releases and biofeedback have also helped me lose 35 pounds and keep it off.

Dave Smith, Maple Ridge, BC

Thank goodness for the bowen therapy!

I was worried I'd lose my leg because it was swollen and numb and sometimes painful to the touch.

All that changed after the bowen therapy.

The homeopathic remedy, and maybe the mental-emotional work, seemed to help too.

Actually, they must've helped, since I had a lot of other things get better too.

Like, I was concerned about my weight before, but I've lost 12 pounds in the past 4 months.

Even though that's not that much, I think I must've more muscle mass now, since people often comment on how much different I look.

Jen L., Burnaby (South Burnaby), BC
